David Madison / Thursday, August 29, 2019 / Categories: Hiking Bristol Hills Trail Hike This trail winds over 50 miles from Ontario Park through Naples to Mitchellsville, nY The Bristol Hills Trail is a branch trail of the 900+ mile Finger Lakes Trail System. The trail winds over 50 miles from its northern terminus at Ontario County Park, through Naples, NY and on to it's southern terminus at the main Finger Lakes Trail / North Country Trail near Mitchellsville, NY. The trail is marked with orange blazes and passes through three state forests, High Tor WMA as well as numerous private lands. It is due to these generous landowners that the trail is allowed to pass through their property. Be respectful of their land and stay on the trail. The Bristol Hills Trail is a great long weekend backpacking hike for those who have a shuttle. There are a couple of sections of the trail that is closed during big game hunting season (Mid Nov-Mid Dec) and the section of trail through Camp Warren Cutler BSA has a year round restriction of NO DOGS ALLOWED. Use the links above and below to explore a section of this trail.
