Henderson Scout Reservation

BSA Scout Camp

Henderson Scout Reservation combines the excitement and adventure of a traditional Scouting program while providing unique access to our historic surroundings. Younger Scouts will find tons of opportunities to earn merit badges and seek rank advancement while older Scouts will be challenged with the traditional program.

For over 70 years, Henderson Scout Reservation has been a fantastic place for units to spend their summers. Scouts who come will be able to take advantage of our first class facilities while they spend their days canoeing, kayaking, shooting, climbing, and so much more! With over 50 merit badge opportunities, Scout will be able to select a program that meets their needs and interests while getting an outstanding outdoor experience.

Unique Opportunities

Henderson Scout Reservation is only 20 minutes from the Baseball Hall of Fame. Because of how close we are, we work with the Hall of Fame in order to give every Scout the opportunity to visit when they come to camp at a price you can’t beat! Being located in the northern Catskill Mountains and only 15 minutes from historic Cooperstown, a week at Henderson also lends itself to several other exciting opportunities that your troop can try on their way in or out of camp such as:

  • Canoeing down the Susquehanna River
  • Taking the local railway tour
  • Visiting the historic Farmer’s Museum
  • Visiting the Fenimore Art Museum
  • Exploring Howe Caverns
  • Rock climbing in the Adirondack Park
  • Hiking in the Catskill or Adirondack Mountains

We think that these opportunities are so important, that we even schedule a whole afternoon for your unit to participate in staff-led adventures for Scouts of all ages.

Let your adventure begin at Henderson this summer
